SCARS AUCTION RULES
1. Preview does not require membership.
2. Buyers and sellers must be SCARS members. Membership will be available at the door. All items submitted for the auction must be radio oriented. Examples: magazines, catalogs, radios, tubes, test gear, novelty radios, hi-fl equipment, phonographs, etc.
3. Minimum lot value should be estimated at $20. Items may be grouped together to achieve this value, i.e., a box of magazines.
4. 10% of the final bid price goes to SCARS.
5. "Buy back" rules allow a seller to bid & buy back their own items. If they win, the buy back penalty is 5%, or $25 maximum. For example, a $500 buy back would cost $25. This removes the risk of a valuable item being sold below the seller’s acceptable price.
6. SCARS will accept a personal check from members with identification, and/or approval of a SCARS official. Otherwise, all transactions must be in cash.
7. The Auction Committee reserves the right to reject any lot.
8. The Auction Committee may limit the number of items submitted due to available time.
9. Bidder cards are $5, and are non-refundable.
10. All items are sold "as-is".
11. Buyers and sellers will be responsible for any sales tax.
12. Buyers and sellers cannot check out until the end of the auction (generally 3 - 4 pm). Please do not to line up at the check out table until the last item has been sold.
13. Buyers who do not pick up their items after the auction ends will be
considered to have abandoned their purchases, and agree that they will
not be entitled to any refund or adjustment.
14. By submitting items for auction, sellers agree to remove any unsold items from the premises by the end of the auction.
