GILFILLAN MODEL RA-1 REFLEX KIT RADIO, 1924
There seems to be little known about this model radio.
In Los Angeles Radio Manufacturing-- The first Twenty Years, by Floyd Paul, the
author mentions this radio in an addendum. In Radio Manufacturers Of The 1920's,
Alan Douglas states it was advertised in May 1924, but does not state in what
publication. This radio was found
in central coastal California, and has been in my possession since 1988. I have
been unable to find further information during that time.
This radio is Aas
found@ and has only been cleaned, and a few solder joints
re-soldered. All components except for the phone jack, tubes, and panel are
identified with the GB trademark. The circuit has one RF amplifier stage, a
crystal detector, and, two stages of audio amplification one of which is
reflexed with the RF amplifier. There is an incorrect identification tag on one
binding post that reads AA battery +@,
it should read AB battery +@.
